“Change happens through movement and movement heals.” – Joseph Pilates

Walk & Talk Therapy

Walk & talk therapy is similar to traditional talk therapy, but in an outdoor setting. We will utilize a walking trail or hiking path to conduct our session. The client will set the pace, and like in a traditional setting, client and therapist will discuss problems, worries and concerns while on the trail.

Benefits of Walk and Talk Therapy

  • Movement and talk therapy can help people work through problems more efficiently. Movement increases circulation, boosting blood flow to the brain and enhancing cognitive performance. This can support the process of confronting and working through difficult issues.
  • Walking releases endorphins, which can elevate mood.
  • Walking side by side with another person can often be less intimidating than traditional therapy where a client can feel pressure to talk about problems they are facing.
  • Getting outside and into nature can contribute to an overall feeling of calm and wellbeing.

Meet Miss Maggie.

Maggie is an eight year old Australian Shepherd with the sweetest demeanor. Maggie is a registered emotional support animal who would love to accompany us during our sessions on the trail.

Maggie only joins walk and talk sessions upon request from the client.
